What an amazing World Book Day we have had today. The children have been immersing themselves in the joy of books.
The day started in breakfast club where staff shared picture books. This morning children across the school wrote their own books and watched a live WBD lesson by the BBC.
This afternoon classes have been paired up. The children shared the books that they wrote this morning and other bedtime stories with each other. This was in front of the fire with a mug of hot chocolate and some biscuits!
The school was visited by author John Dougherty today who led a number of sessions with the children, sharing his stories, poems and songs.
John very kindly stayed after school to sign his books for any child that purchased one today.
It was fabulous to see the children so excited about John's latest poetry book - Zooming at the Zoo and his beautiful picture book - The Hare-Shaped Hole.
