School Reopening to all Pupils

23rd Feb 2021

As you are now aware schools will be reopening to all pupils from the 8th March. Many of you will no doubt have your own opinions about school reopening and while some of you may be feeling pleased that things look like they are beginning to return to normal, there will also be many of you feeling apprehensive about your children coming back to school.

Between the 8th March and the Easter break the school will operate in the same way that it did during the Autumn term. Children will have the same start and finish times to the school day (according to surname) they they had during the Autumn term and there will be no after or before school clubs. During the school day children will remain in their class bubbles with staggered play and lunch times. We will also require all adults who are undertaking the school run to wear a mask on site and we still ask that only one adult from each household accompany their children during drop-off and collection. Children can still come to school dressed in PE kit on their PE days.

The aim for the school will be to ease our restrictions in line with DfE and PHE guidance as national restrictions are also eased. The school will continue to review its procedures regularly.

As we get closer to the Easter break the school will update you with any information that we have about school events and trips that are scheduled to take place during the summer term.

School will close at 12.00 on Friday 5th March to vulnerable and key work children to allow staff time to come and prepare their classrooms and the site for all children to return on the 8th.

If there is anything you would like to discuss in terms of school reopening to all pupils then please contact your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
