Year 3/4 - Miss R. Hobbs

Welcome to Eagles class, I’m Miss Hobbs and I am the class teacher. Mrs Younger and Miss Frowen also works in Eagles class.

Our topic for the summer term is ‘Reach for the Stars’ during this topic we will focus on health and wellbeing including our dreams and aspirations.

We will begin this topic by learning how to draw self-portraits and creating a Hall of Fame.

Throughout the topic we will develop our scientific knowledge about our bodies and how to keep healthy. We will be designing and making our own healthy burgers and accompaniments which will be cooked on a bar-b-que during our trip to Beechenhurst.  Whilst at Beechenhurst we will enjoy den building and using a compass and map to navigate our way around as part as our adventurous activities.

This term our P.E days are Monday and Wednesday. It is a good idea if children keep their P.E kits in school at all times as P.E lessons may change due to weather and school commitments.

Homework will be set at the start of the term. Children can hand in their completed homework projects at the end of the term or as they finish each task.  You can support us by listening to your child read regularly and helping them learn their times tables. Children will receive rewards for completed homework and if an adult signs their link book to let us know they have read at home.  Children can become ‘Maths Champions’ and receive a special pencil when they know all the times tables for their year group: Y3 x2, x10, x5, x3, x4 and x8, Y4 all x tables up to 12 x 12.

We are all looking forward to learning new and interesting things this term.
