Eagles

Year 3/4 - Miss R. Hobbs

Welcome to Eagles class! I'm Miss Hobbs and I am the class teacher. Mrs Younger and Miss Frowen also work in Eagles class.

Our topic for the autumn term is ‘Walk Through Time’ During this topic we will focus on the Victorians.

We will begin this topic by learning about Victorian author Lewis Carroll and the story of Alice and Wonderland. We will enjoy a Mad Hatters tea party and we will be dressing up as one of the characters from the story.

Throughout the topic we will develop our historical knowledge by learning about Victorian life, jobs and schools. We will be visiting Tyntesfield to learn about Victorian houses.

In art we will be learning about Victorian artist William Morris. We will be designing and creating some table clothes in the style of the artist.

This term our P.E day is Tuesday. It is a good idea if children keep their P.E. kits in school at all times as P.E lessons may change due to weather and school commitments. Also, Eagles will be going swimming on a Monday.

Homework will be set at the start of the term and children can hand in their completed homework projects at the end of the term or as they finish each task.  You can support us by listening to your child read regularly and helping them learn their times tables. Children will receive rewards for completed homework and if an adult signs their link book to let us know they have read at home.

We are all looking forward to learning new and interesting things this term.
