Year 3/4 - Miss R. Hobbs

Welcome to Eagles class I'm Miss Hobbs and I am the class teacher. Mrs Younger and Miss Frowen also work in Eagles class.

Our topic for the Spring term is ‘Read All About It!’ during this topic we will focus on developing our Geography skills and knowledge.

We will begin this topic by experiencing an exciting hook day. Children will investigate a natural disaster that has occurred in the school. The children will become news reporters and will write a news report about the disaster.

Throughout the topic we also learn about the weather, seasons and the causes and impact of flooding. We will write and perform a script for a weather forecast and we will use our programming skills in Computing lessons to create a weather simulation. We will also be making rain gauges to measure and record the amount of rainfall we have during the term.

In Science will learn how the Earth, Moon and Sun move and how this affects day and night and the seasons. We will also investigate solids, liquids and gases. In Art we will use our creative skills to create our own Pop Art and in Design and Technology we will look at the packaging of Easter Eggs and we will create some packaging of our own.

Our P.E day will be Monday and Wednesday. It is a good idea if children keep their P.E kits in school at all times as P.E lessons may change due to weather and school commitments.

Homework will be set at the start of the term. Children can hand in their completed homework projects at the end of the term or as they finish each task.  You can support us by listening to your child read regularly and helping them learn their times tables. Children will receive rewards for completed homework and if an adult signs their link book to let us know they have read at home.

We are all looking forward to learning new and interesting things this term.
